The Safety Management System applies to all Laing O’Rourke Australia Hub operations. This system must be read in conjunction with specific Project or Workplace Health and Safety Plans to provide site specific context.  The purpose of the System is:

  • To assist people to make our workplaces safer
  • To establish consistent methods for managing activities affecting the health and safety of people at our operations
  • To achieve our vision of being a recognised global leader for progressive and leading edge HS management and to build resilience and innovation into our operations
  • To conduct all operations in a responsible manner, to respect the health and safety of all stakeholders and to be a company of first choice for employees and clients
  • To achieve compliance with legislative requirements and certification of the System to applicable standards, schemes and governing bodies
